Highly
Recommended:
1. Helmet
2. Mittens or Gloves
3. Warm layered clothing
All
children are required
to wear a bicycle
helmet. It
is very important
to have properly
fitting skates
with the right
amount of support.
Skates should
be made of a
durable material
such as leather
and should fit
snugly but not
tight. Skates
run the same
size as your
shoe size and
sometimes a size
smaller. It is
also strongly
recommended that
you dress warmly
including jackets,
mittens and hats.
Pants that hang
on the ice are
not permitted. |

Class
Format:
All lesson students are allowed on the ice at the beginning
of the lesson period to begin their class or practice session.
All Classes will meet once a week for 6 weeks and will include
a 30 minute lesson and a 30 minute practice in the designated
practice area. Practice time will either be before or after
the lesson is taken depending on the time slot chosen. Children
should be dressed and ready 10 minutes before the scheduled
start time of class. It is sometimes necessary to repeat
a level in order to master all of the skills required to
advance to the next. Taking two classes per week can help
advance a skater to our other United Skates programs more
quickly.
